Ceramic Cartridge

Ceramic Cartridge

Ceramic Cartridge types from which to choose, your journey for the right ceramic pickup is near an end. We know it is hard to match the right cartridge to your player.  Most of the time you only need to replace the needle.  In most cases you will save time, trouble & $ if you proceed only if you are sure your cartridge is bad. If you don't know if you have or need a ceramic cartridge or magnetic type, see the pics below to get an idea of what ceramic cartridges look like.  The transition from ceramic to magnetic cartridge use generally took place during the 1970's.  But the "nostalgic" type players of today persist in using ceramic cartridges.  And some players started using magnetic cartridges in the 1960's.  Fortunately, magnetic cartridges look quite different in that they don't flip over to play 78's.  So a quick look below and then a quick visit to Magnetic Cartridges will help you decide which type you have/need.  You will need to stick with the type that is correct for your player.  We cannot/do not help with putting a square peg in a round hole. If you cannot find a cartridge number, go to the 'find my player' link to your left and look up your model anyway.
